News flash: The 14.4 rating "Monday Night Football" received for
the Cleveland Browns-Miami Dolphins game was the second-lowest rating
ever for a second-week Monday night game.
Is "Monday Night Football" in trouble? Nah.
"Ratings can't be looked at week-by-week and compared to the
previous year," said Mark Mandel, the director of public relations
for ABC Sports. "Certain teams from certain markets have a history
of doing better."
In fact, the game Monday had no chance of success in Cleveland
because it was blacked out there.
The second Monday night game last season was between the
eventual Super Bowl champion Washington Redskins and the Dallas
