The first time Stone Bridge faced Potomac Falls's senior ace,
Casey Hartman, the Bulldogs walked away with a three-run loss and not
a single hit to their credit.
But Stone Bridge hadn't dropped another AA Dulles District contest
since, rattling off six straight league wins -- and averaging 8.8
runs per outing -- headed into Friday's rematch with Hartman in
Sterling. And this time, it was Hartman who was overmatched.
Stone Bridge totaled four hits and nine runs off the talented
lefty in just two innings of work in what proved a runaway, 15-1,
five-inning Bulldog victory. Hartman (6-2) had yielded only one
earned run all season -- in a loss to Broad Run -- before Friday,
