For the last two years, Holy Trinity felt like the bridesmaid, finishing second at the Ridgewood Class A Regional. But Friday night the Tigers took their place at the altar by edging Ridgewood 37-34 and winning their first regional title since 1989.

The Tigers (18-10) led 33-28 with 6:50 remaining, but Ridgewood's Eric Johnson (20 points), who hit five three-pointers, drained two consecutive three-pointers to put the Rebels (23-4) ahead 34-33 with 6:08 remaining.

Tamir Hughes' basket gave Holy Trinity the lead 35-34 with 5:48 left. After a missed shot, Holy Trinity took possession and guard Larry Malone held the ball in one spot for three minutes and 25 seconds.
