Sometimes new products make sense because they simplify or
automate something that was considered a mundane chore. But
sometimes a new product automates a chore that doesn't seem to need
automating.
That's what I thought of the new generation of electric food
steamers - but then I tried them, and boy, was I surprised.
There are four steamer units on the market that have captured my
attention - Black & Decker's Handy Steamer, Maverick's Steam
Maverick, Westbend's Steamer and Betty Crocker's Food Steamer.
Why are these things suddenly starting to appear on the market?
The easy answer is that more of us are trying to eat healthier - and
steaming is about the healthiest method of food ...
