There was a time when people claimed that a woman's place was in
the home. Today, after decades of debunking, a woman's place is
anywhere she wants to be, including behind a movie camera or
camcorder.
Nowhere is this more evident than at the annual International
Women's Film and Video Festival sponsored by Women in the Director's
Chair, an organization dedicated to showcasing the innovative work of
women from around the world.
This year's festival, the largest of its kind in the Midwest,
features the latest work of more than 80 independent film and video
artists from across the country and around the world. Beginning
