Article: Spring Brings Festival of New Music

In spring, the fancy of Chicago's new music lovers used to turn to annual festivals sponsored by New Music Chicago. But after 1990 the events became biennial, and the group has been quiet since the spring 1992 fest.

Nonetheless, next week is packed with concerts of new music. Northwestern and the University of Chicago are sponsoring a four-day Spring Festival of New Music featuring area composers. In addition, the U. of C. has a recital of 20th century piano music on tap Sunday night.
