Ameritech spends nearly $2 million each year to stage the
Ameritech Senior Open, primarily to advertise its name across the
nation via the CBS weekend telecast of the event.
Today, that $2 million is going to seem like pocket change
when Michael Jordan and Arnold Palmer - the top two endorsers in
sports history - play together in the Ameritech Pro-Am at
Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora.
The Jordan-Palmer pairing probably will produce a page 1
picture in many sports sections and is sure to be featured on most
TV sports segments.
It's the kind of positive publicity money can't buy and most
public relations types can only dream about.
Tee time is noon.
