Article: Improving Zorich Starting To Show Bears He Belongs

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - As Chris Zorich steps back from the starting lineup this week, he's never been closer to it.

"At this point we love him," defensive coordinator Bob Slowik said. "If he keeps playing like he is, it will be hard to keep him out of the starting lineup."

Slowik said Zorich must be considered one of the team's playmakers after the Bears' 11-10 loss to the Phoenix Cardinals. With William Perry sidelined because of a swollen knee, Zorich started at right tackle and made six tackles.

Monday against the Saints, coaches want to give Perry another chance. So Zorich won't get too excited yet.
