Article: Chicago Filmmakers to Show Black Female Directors' Work

Chicago filmmaker Yvonne Welbon will present a dozen new films and videos by African-American women tonight at Chicago Filmmakers, 1543 W. Division.

The 8 p.m. presentation, "Experimental Spirit," will include Welbon's "Remembering Wei Yi-fang, Remembering Myself," a work in progress that recalls her six-year sojourn in Taiwan. She is working on a master's degree at the School of the Art Institute.
