Article: Perfect Game for Nowak A Striking Accomplishment

Rich Nowak of Oak Lawn had a perfectly wonderful Beat The Champions experience this week.

Nowak, 28, bowled a 300 Sunday while competing in the 33rd annual Chicago Sun-Times/ BPA contest at Lawn Lanes. Nowak, a records clerk at Citibank, rolled 203, 300 and 216 for a 719 and totaled 783 with handicap for his 173 average.

Bowling continues in Beat The Champions through Saturday at 123 area centers. Entry fee is $2, with proceeds going to area charities.

"I got a couple of breaks, especially on the first ball in the 10th frame," Nowak said of his second lifetime 300.
