Article: For Big Ten, Rose Bowl Ticks Hard to Get

For a number of years, a thorny issue has bugged Big Ten fans
wanting to attend the Rose Bowl - the big discrepancy in the amount
of tickets allotted to the Big Ten champ compared to the Pac 10
teams.
Though past Big Ten victors, notably Michigan, have grumbled
about the ticket allocation, no formal protests have been filed with
the Rose Bowl organizing committee.
After all, the Big Ten champ and the rest of the conference
didn't want to jeopardize what has grown to be a $3.25 million cut of
the Rose Bowl sweepstakes.
This year that might change, mainly because of the efforts of
Wisconsin athletic director Pat Richter.
