Circuit Court Clerk Aurelia M. Pucinski, who is seeking to become
Cook County Board president, is promoting herself as a seasoned
administrator.
Her record as an administrator, though, is a mixed one. In an
office that had been tarnished by corruption, Pucinski seems to be
an improvement over her predecessors. But her office isn't a model
of administrative efficiency. Management audits have raised serious
questions about Pucinski's administrative competence. Though
Pucinski is honest and puts in long hours, she's not always attentive
to detail.
