Article: Abu Dhabi To Send BCCI Exec to U.S.

WASHINGTON Abu Dhabi has agreed to send former banking official Swaleh Naqvi to the United States to stand trial for his role in the Bank of Credit and Commerce International scandal, the Justice Department said Sunday.

Department officials said Naqvi, formerly the No. 2 official at the now-defunct bank, will be turned over within four months.

Naqvi's surrender was part of an agreement the United States reached in Geneva, Switzerland, with the Abu Dhabi ruling family that also calls for a major financial settlement and access to key documents and witnesses.
