H ow bare do you dare?
Come spring, expect pantyhose, thigh-highs, knee socks and
anklets to lighten up with sheer color and texture. For the first
time in several seasons, those ever-present black opaque tights won't
cut it. After all, they'd look quite somber under spring's gauzy
layered slips, ruffled baby doll dresses and metallic separates.
"What we're seeing most of are sheer cosmetic tints," says Gina
Tovar, fashion director at Nordstrom, referring to the flesh-toned,
slightly polished shades that complement the lighter fabrics and
colors seen on New York designer runways.
And with shorter skirts swishing back in a big way, textured
legs - that means net, lace and - are again ...
