`The seven-year itch" has been used by playwrights and
songwriters to denote the time when some bonds of matrimony tug at
the seams. However, it is the "11-year itch" that really shatters
the most blissful marriage financially. That is the time when almost
all the home furnishings begin to disintegrate.
The major appliances such as the range, fridge and dishwasher
break down. The bed, bath and table linens begin to show signs of
wear and the upholstery of sofa and chairs suddenly looks shabby.
My helpful hint for newlyweds is to set aside a special savings
program that will soften the monetary blow of the "11-year itch."
They then can guide their budgets to prepare for the "22-year ...
