The Rogers Park neighborhood on the Far North Side is undergoing
residential and retail rejuvenation.
Ten miles north of the Loop on the border of Evanston, Rogers
Park is bounded by Howard, Ridge and Devon avenues and Lake Michigan.
Granada Centre, a $24 million residential and retail project,
recently was completed on the site of the former Granada Theater at
Devon and Broadway, adjoining the Loyola elevated stop. The project
is a joint venture of SLC Properties and Loyola Development Co. An
expansion of the nearby Loyola University campus is under way.
A $6 million retail and residential redevelopment plan is under
way on the 1,859-seat Howard Theater on Howard near Ashland Avenue. ...
