Hello. Would someone please tell me why the postal workers
are sorting mail in dim light at the Logan Square post office?
Is it because the light bulbs reportedly burned out months ago, and
the maintenance staff won't change them because they are more than 9
feet off the floor, and therefore the work has to be done by an
electrician, who has yet to show up? Is this a joke?

A memo to U.S. Postmaster General Marvin Runyon, who is mired in
a mail mess in Chicago: Imagine the surprise at the Lyric Opera
ticket office when they received a letter that had been sent to a
Lyric Guild board member in 1986!
