BALLY SETTLES WITH IRS: Bally Manufacturing Corp. has agreed to pay
the Internal Revenue Service $3.7 million to settle a claim
concerning the firm's purchase of the Health & Tennis Corp. IRS
officials had claimed Bally owed the government $32 million in taxes
and interest. The settlement removes the last remaining major IRS
matter facing the corporation, said Bally Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer Arthur M. Goldberg. Chicago-based Bally is a
gaming and entertainment company.
NEW SPOKESMAN: Deerfield-based NutraSweet Co. will soon unveil its
latest celebrity spokesman - Mr. Magoo. The company said it will
launch a TV commercial that will feature Mr. Magoo as a man of the
