Chris Simon just wanted to make contact with the puck. A juicy
rebound skipped a foot off the ice and Boston Bruins goalie Byron
Dafoe was nowhere in sight, the net completely open. It looked as if
Simon was about to score his second goal and cement a Washington
Capitals victory with about four minutes left.
Ideally, Simon would have settled the puck and nudged it easily
into the net for a two-goal lead, but time and physics prevented
that, and the power forward did well simply making contact, waffling
a knuckleball that dipped wide. Then, with 2 minutes 39 seconds
