FISH CREEK, Wis. We are here with our spouses to track down the
mysterious Door County fish boil. We don't know much about the Door
County fish boil, except that it conjures up visions of good
Wisconsin times for everyone but the fish.
As we cross the border into Door County, four or five hours
north of Chicago on Lake Michigan, we decide a fish boil is an
open-and-shut case to find in Door.
Signs advertising fish boils are frequent, touting the simplest
boils to the grandest. There are even fly-in fish boils at airports,
and churches sometimes have boils instead of bingo.
We finally settle on a dinner boil at Pelletier's Restaurant &
