PITTSBURGH Anthony Young threw his glove almost as far as the ball Tuesday night.

In striking out a batter to end the fourth inning against the Pirates, he felt the same biting pain in his forearm and elbow that had sent him to the Cubs' disabled list three weeks ago.

Young couldn't start the fifth inning in a game the Cubs won 8-4 with seven runs in the last three innings, including a tie-breaking home run by Mark Grace leading off the eighth.

The idea that he may have to go back on the DL entered Young's mind as he crossed the foul line back to the dugout, where he threw his glove - left handed.
