Feb. 15, 1985. Robert, 22 months old, is treated at Jackson Park
Hospital for scratches and bruises on his neck, arms and torso. His
mother says his father abused him.
Jan. 19, 1986. Police find Robert home alone with two brothers,
ages 5 and 3. He has scars on his face, cordlike marks on his
abdomen, scabs from burns on his neck and shoulder, and burns on his
buttocks.
August, 1986. Robert's mother pleads guilty to child neglect.
