Article: Edelman Honored at Fawcett Dinner

Long known for lending a helping hand to any number of individuals and worthwhile causes, Ruth Edelman found herself the honoree and the object of attention at the Jan Fawcett Humanitarian Award dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The dinner benefitted the National Depressive and Manic-Depressive Association, was chaired by Melissa Sage, welcomed almost 250 guests and raised more than $45,000.

"Rose Kurland and Marilyn Weiss came to me in 1978 and asked me to help them start a support group for people living with these illnesses, and I did," said Fawcett, who chairs the Department of Psychiatry at Pres-St. Luke's.
