CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands St. Thomas, the most populous
of the three U.S. Virgin Islands, is famous for its shopping. Cruise
ships are often parked three deep to unload passengers into Charlotte
Amalie's plethora of duty-free stores.
But there is definitely life on St. Thomas beyond shopping.
There's much to do and see if you're willing to venture up the hills
of this most Americanized of Carribean islands.
You can learn to windsurf, take a submarine ride, attend a
beach party, day sail to another country, learn do-it-yourself
massage, sample West Indian cuisine, visit the world's largest living
man-made reef without getting wet, and (if lucky) snorkel among sea
