Some pretty hairy beasts stomped across the earth during prehistoric times. A few evolved into animals we know today, but others died off, leaving behind no recognizable relatives. Here are a few of the strangest beasties:

Titanothere: Looking like a bloated rhinoceros, the titanothere had a giant anvil-like horn on its nose. It was quite populous in North America, particularly in the Plains states region.
