Currently hailed as one of the most promising of young British
artists, Damien Hirst is a lot like P.T. Barnum: He is an
extraordinary showman. In fact, before gaining recognition for his
art - even before graduating from art school - he made headlines as
the organizer of "Freeze," a controversial 1988 show promoting the
work of friends and fellow students.
Hirst has brought his latest project, "Some Went Mad, Some Ran
Away. . .," to Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art. The
exhibition, which will remain on view through March 12, features the
