Heroin is expanding from Chicago's back alleys and poor neighborhoods into its corporate offices.

Sold on the streets as "Candy, Nasty Boy and China White," heroin is being sought by growing numbers of white-collar Chicagoans, say local narcotics investigators and substance abuse experts.

Said Dr. David Barthwell, medical director of the chemical dependence service at Northwestern Memorial Hospital: "We're seeing an influx of patients that don't fit the stereotype of the traditional user of heroin - the poor and the longtime users who experimented in the 1960s."
