Once upon a time, all the characters in children's fairy tales
were snow-white, ruby-lipped Europeans. Today, thanks to HBO's
animated series "Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child,"
Jack and the Giant are African, Little Red Riding Hood has become
Little Red Happy Coat and Hanselito and Gretelita are Cuban.
The (STAR)(STAR)(STAR) 1/2 children's series, premiering with
three half-hour episodes at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the cable channel, is
a charming update of well-known tales, featuring music, humor and a
variety of guest voices. In Sunday's "Jack and the Beanstalk,"
