REDWOOD CURTAIN
(STAR) (STAR) (STAR) WLS-Channel 7, 8 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
ABC will raise television's collective IQ by at least 50 points for
two hours Sunday with the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" presentation of
"Redwood Curtain."
Based on the Broadway play by Lanford Wilson, the high-minded
family drama stars Jeff Daniels (atoning for "Dumb and Dumber"), Lea
Salonga from "Miss Saigon," John Lithgow and Tony winner Debra Monk.
Daniels and Monk performed in the New York stage production.
The interlocking themes of "Redwood Curtain" are "loss and
preservation," Wilson says. Writer Ed Namzug adapted the play for
television, adding several scenes and one major character.
