Elizabeth Taylor's problems with her first husband, Nicky Hilton
Jr., began on their wedding night and continued throughout their
honeymoon, becoming a nightmare marriage for the young actress.
Conrad Nicholson (Nicky) Hilton Jr., heir to his father's vast
international hotel chain, had first set eyes on Elizabeth during a
bridal shower for Jane Powell at the Mocambo. The following day, he
burst into his father's office; he announced he had seen the most
fabulous-looking girl in the world and insisted he had to meet her.
Nicky called upon his friend Peter Lawford to effect an
introduction. Lawford arranged a discreet luncheon for the couple.
