Here are a few things to see and do in and around Charleston:
Charleston Visitors Center, 375 Meeting St., (803) 724-7474.
Solid history of the area and continual showings of "Forever
Charleston," a fine multimedia introduction to the city. Admission
to the center is free. "Forever Charleston" is $2.50.
The Battery, at the south end of Meeting Street.
Eighteenth century artillery points across the water toward Fort
Sumter on the horizon. On one side of the park are beautifully kept
mansions. On the other is a concrete promenade for strolling.
