If you own a four-wheel-drive truck and you want to take it
off-roading, you may want to think about purchasing special tires.
According to B.F. Goodrich, since most four-wheel-drive vehicles
are driven primarily on pavement, many come equipped with either
passenger type tires or all-season tires. There are big differences
in both construction and tread design between passenger tires,
all-season radials and mud tires.
If you decide to purchase mud tires, you should plan to use them
for off-roading only. Although these types of tires provide superior
strength and traction in rocky or muddy terrain, they will not
provide as good handling as all-season tires in rain or snow.
