Frank Casey, Chicago's beloved and legendary movie press agent, is dead, and the city is a poorer place.

For more than 50 years, he represented Warner Bros. in the Midwest, joking that he had to be persuaded to take the job, "because I had another offer from Coca-Cola, and they supplied a free uniform."

He was found dead in his apartment Tuesday.

Casey - which is what everyone called him - was a sandy-haired leprechaun who enjoyed the legend that he was the stingiest man alive. That wasn't true, although I did witness him using the company credit card to place a 5-cent call.
