No. 3 Brother Rice completed its sweep of Pulaski Avenue
opponents by trouncing neighborhood rival Bogan 36-0 Saturday at
Brother Rice.
After shutting out neighborhood rival Marist last week, Brother
Rice (2-0) turned its attention three miles north on Pulaski to Bogan
(0-2).
The Crusaders' defense was dominating. The Bengals' offense,
which played without starting backs Larry Cannon (dislocated
shoulder) and Sam Rawls (ankle), was held to 67 yards for the game
and no first downs in the first half.
"We have the potential to be better defensively than we were
last year," defensive coordinator Steve Nye said. "Joe Carroll and
Mike Lunsford are our leaders."
