There was a time Bears defensive tackle Jim Flanigan was about
the only guy on the team this side of Kevin Butler who understood the
significance of the NFL's oldest rivalry.
No more. Flanigan, a native of Green Bay, Wis., and the son of
a Super Bowl-winning Packer, doesn't want the hype to surround him
Monday night when the Bears face the Packers on national television
(8 p.m., Ch. 7).
"Everyone made a big deal of it last year," Flanigan said of his
hometown connections. "For me and the rest of the Bears, it's just
another game now. A division game, that's what makes it important.
