NEW YORK Peter Fonda knows cheap.
Fonda - Henry's son, Jane's brother and Bridget's father, who
co-produced the 1960s classic "Easy Rider" for $262,000 - knows about
low-budget movies and no-budget movies and the difference between
cheap and ultra-cheap.
And he knows even more about cheap these days as the star of
"Nadja" (opening today at the Music Box), a hip, black-and-white film
about Dracula's undead progeny, with lesbian overtones and a batty
sense of humor.
Fonda plays the legendary fearless vampire hunter Van Helsing.
A "Schindler's List" discovery, the Garbo-like Elina Owensohn, plays
the count's undead daughter Nadja.
