Article: Nicole's Kin Gets Death Threats; Security Around Home Boosted

LOS ANGELES The family of O.J. Simpson's ex-wife has been receiving death threats by telephone since the football legend was acquitted of her murder earlier this week, a police spokesman said Saturday.

"The family has received a number of malicious telephone calls," Lt. Lynn Nehring of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

KNBC television reported that security had been tightened around the home where the family of Nicole Brown Simpson lives in Dana Point, an oceanside community south of Los Angeles. But Nehring said the sheriff's office was not part of that security.
