I've been wallowing in California cantaloupe. These
basketball-sized beauties glow golden as an autumn sunrise, musky and
fragrant as Mother Earth herself.
The succulent orange flesh surrenders willingly to my spoon,
then melts sweetly in my mouth. Who would believe cancer prevention
could taste this good?
Cancer is high on the list of most-feared diseases, and the
American Cancer Society tells us that one-third of all cancers are
diet-related. Amazingly, less than 10 percent of all Americans eat
two fruits and three vegetables a day, as recommended for cancer
prevention by the National Cancer Institute.
