OTTAWA, Ill. - With his team trailing Ottawa 20-16 at halftime, Mount Carmel coach Frank Lenti still felt pretty good.

"They had totally controlled the game and we were only down by four," Lenti said. "I knew if we played to our capabilities, the sky was the limit."

Mount Carmel put the clamps on the Pirates in the second half, forcing three turnovers and scoring two touchdowns in a 30-20 victory on a snow-covered field.

"At halftime, we didn't have our heads down," said Mount Carmel quarterback John Welsh, who scored both second-half touchdowns. "The defense got it together and we just did it."
