LOS ANGELES Bob Dole, move over. The Republican presidential hopeful
may have turned the movie industry upside down with his assault on
sex and violence in films, but now even some of Hollyood's best-known
stars are speaking out about these issues.
Take Jack Lemmon. The 70-year-old two-time Oscar-winner who
co-stars with Walter Matthau in Warner Bros.' ``Grumpier Old Men''
(now playing at local theaters) says he misses the days when movies
were just stories about people.
``The movie business has changed. One thing that has happened
is the plethora of sex and violence - mainly violence, the
explosions, the special effects, people being blown apart. I think
