WASHINGTON Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America created a "reign of terror" against employees after sexual harassment lawsuits were filed against the Illinois automaker, seven congresswomen said Wednesday.

They said the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission should seek a court order to prevent the downstate Normal plant from retaliating against workers.

Tsuneo Ohinouye, chairman of the plant, said in a prepared statement that the company maintains "a working environment wherein every employee is treated with dignity and mutual respect."
