The rise of the home office, entertaining's return home and a
greater desire for quiet, family-oriented communities - all these
factors helped build southwest suburban Burr Ridge where wetlands and
farms stood just 15 years ago.
"People who move to Burr Ridge are looking for a place to
settle. New families, or couples who are planning a family, move
here with the expectation of staying a long time," said Bob Floss of
Century 21 Bob Floss, Countryside.
Most new homes are big two-story Tudor or Colonial styles.
The typical home in Burr Ridge has 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2
bathrooms, with least 2,000 square feet inside and more than a half
an acre outside. It costs about $400,000.
