Usually, at one extreme or the other - birth or death. But in honor of Mother's Day let's concentrate on the positive event.

For that, we went to Tikva Frymer-Kensky, professor of Hebrew Bible at the University of Chicago Divinity School.

When Frymer-Kensky was pregnant with her daughter, she discovered there were barely any prayers, meditations or mentions of this important biological event in most of the religious texts she had studied.
