On Day Four of Florida Smith's weeklong diet, she wasn't exactly
looking forward to eating only cabbage-vegetable soup, bananas and
skim milk.
The first day, she was allowed to eat only the soup and fruit
(no bananas).
Day Two was soup and vegetables only (with a big baked potato
and butter for dinner). Day Three was soup, fruit and vegetables
(but no potato).
For a week, she wasn't allowed to eat bread or drink alcohol or
carbonated drinks. But if she didn't cheat, the diet's (unknown)
authors promised, Smith would lose 10 to 17 pounds.
