Annie Potts entertained millions for seven years as a "Designing"
sitcom woman on CBS. Next she'll star as a "Dangerous" teacher in an
upcoming ABC drama series, premiering in September.
Her new character, ex-marine LouAnne Johnson, is based on the
real-life high school teacher played by Michelle Pfeiffer in the hit
1995 film "Dangerous Minds." Johnson, author of My Posse Don't Do
Homework, is a consultant for the TV version of "Dangerous Minds."
Johnson "is a sensational woman, no question about it," Potts
said during a recent phone interview from her home in a Los Angeles
suburb. "And her character in `Dangerous Minds' is a great role.
