I'll Always Have Paris A Memoir. By Art Buchwald. $24.95. It's probably impossible for Art Buchwald to write a bad book. The fabled columnist is one of the best satirists and most sharp-eyed commentators on social mores, customs and foibles of the past half-century.

His 30 earlier books - many collections of his syndicated columns - have gently (and often not so gently) tweaked readers' funnybones. He is at his best when he pricks the balloons of arrogant government officials or pompous public figures.
