It's probably impossible for Art Buchwald to write a bad book. The
fabled columnist is one of the best satirists and most sharp-eyed
commentators on social mores, customs and foibles of the past
half-century.
His 30 earlier books - many collections of his syndicated
columns - have gently (and often not so gently) tweaked readers'
funnybones. He is at his best when he pricks the balloons of
arrogant government officials or pompous public figures.
He also satirizes without malice, ridicules without drawing
blood, and leaves his readers not only with a smile but also a warm
revelation about the goodness of human nature.
