Christmas.
But what kind of gifts are these for a kid?
Pretty good ones, as it turns out. When the Wise Men - might
have been three, maybe more, maybe fewer - visited Christ, they
brought something of real value.
Kind of like a Tickle Me Elmo is today.
GOLD: This, we know. We still give it today, though the stuff
at the jewelry store is much more processed - mixed with alloys - and
more polished than gold was in Christ's era.
Its value then was based on its relative scarcity, just as it
is today. Plus, it retains its beauty, never rusts and is fairly
easy to mold.
