A self-indulgent send-up by a once-vibrant troupe that has lost its
way.
What went wrong with Lookingglass Theatre? Once the most
vibrant of Chicago's theatrical troupes, these acrobatic Northwestern
graduates gave us magical and poetic adaptations of "The Jungle,"
"The Odyssey" and "The Arabian Nights." They animated Anouilh's
"Eurydice" with an unerring feel for stage tableaux and created such
disturbing and seductive feminist works as "The Secret in the Wings"
and "In the Eye of the Beholder."
