Article: Roast chicken brings out the fruity flavors in wine

Roasted chicken is fast gaining popularity among people who want
to avoid the high fat content of fried chicken.
You probably don't want to spend $30 on a bottle of wine to
drink with chicken, but many hosts and cooks like to serve an
affordable bottle with such a dinner.
So I asked my wine experts to bring to a tasting a wine that
would go well with a simply prepared and seasoned roasted chicken.
Here's proof that experts disagree among themselves all the
time: They brought two sauvignon blancs, a chardonnay, a merlot and a
syrah. (Yes, you can serve red wine with chicken.)
We tasted each wine by itself and rated our favorites. Then we
tasted each after a bite of the chicken and again ...
