A group of area residents who don't think there's enough milk in
their milk cartons filed suit Tuesday against the dairy.
The lawsuit alleges that Swiss Valley Farms Co., which sells and
distributes its milk products throughout the Midwest, has sold
containers with significantly less milk than stated on the labels.
The allegations were based on recent surveys by the Wisconsin
Department of Agriculture and U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Last
month, the FTC reported that 40 percent of milk and juice containers
the agency inspected were underfilled by as much as 6 percent.
